With over 20 years of professional experience in Financial service spanning multiple countries such as Singapore, The Netherlands, Chile or The UK, Celine Bourban’s career is nothing short of extraordinary. Currently, she works in Equity Sales at Portzamparc BNP Paribas France, a division specialised in French small- and mid-caps. Her vast experiences have made her realize the importance and impact of Fintech, which led her to enroll in CFTE’s Fintech courses and the Extrapreneurship program.
CFTE: What was your main motivation for taking the courses? Were there any specific insights you gained throughout your career that prompted you to learn about these topics and pursue experiences such as the Extrapreneurship course?
Celine: Having spent the last 20 years abroad and changing countries every 3 to 4 years, I used to reinvent myself many times in order to adapt to the configurations of each market I was moving to. I went through several trainings during these 20 years. It was therefore natural to pursue a learning journey in Fintech, a major driver of change in the banking industry. At that time, I was working in Singapore for DBS, a bank recognized for its great leadership in terms of digital transformation. Seeing how fast the bank was moving forward and implementing new tools, I had absolutely no doubt in enrolling in CFTE’s Fintech courses. Led by some of the greatest leaders in the Fintech industry, the course also enables participants to go through the program at their own pace, which is ideal for professionals with heavy agendas.
CFTE: How have you implemented the knowledge and skills you acquired through the courses?
Celine: I do not specifically work in the digital transformation department but I definitely gained knowledge and confidence over the industry’s many transformation trends. The latter has been key in many aspects, including among others, a better understanding on companies transformation, how advanced they are and its related impact on stock’s valuation.
CFTE: Which course or experience did you enjoy the most and why? What were the main takeaways for you?
Celine: The Extrapreneurship program has been a challenging one, but also extremely rewarding. The program involves collaborating with people from different professional backgrounds and locations to deliver a project in only 8 weeks. Such a program is a high speed learning course developing agility and collaborative skills.
CFTE: And finally, if you had to describe yourself in 3 words or less, what would they be?
Celine: Hedonist, agile, persevering.
