CFTE: Why did you choose CFTE?
James: I chanced upon CFTE when searching the web for Open Banking courses and I like the approach on how the program was structured with practitioners giving their expertise with real life examples. The various courses are formulated in a way that finance and banking professionals can relate to.
CFTE: As somebody who is in the Banking space, what motivated you to learn about Open Banking & Platforms?
James: Banking is currently undergoing a dramatic shift in paradigm to become more collaborative with banking and non-banking partners in an effort to be more customer centric. This is already evident for payments where in the past, we used to hold multiple cards and cash in wallet to now just needing a mobile phone. As a business analyst in the banking sector, it is imperative we understand the concept of open banking, the models it operates, the difficulty of implementing one and the risk it entails.
CFTE: How have you applied the skills and knowledge acquired through the course?
James: After attending the course, I used the knowledge and skills I obtained to evaluate our solutions. I learned the importance of being more forward-thinking and keeping the customer and their experience at the forefront of my mind.
CFTE: What did you enjoy about the course? Any main takeaways?
James: I enjoyed the self-paced learning style as I was able to learn at my own-time. After the completion of the course, I had a better understanding about platforms and API, the regulatory and technological aspects of Open Banking and what is necessary for incumbents to adapt and to stay competitive.
CFTE: And finally, before we let you go, could you describe yourself in 3 words or less
James: Friendly, open minded, diplomatic.
