CFTE: What motivated you to learn more about Fintech?
Kim: My base skills are in technology and finance, thus with the merging of industries due to market and regulatory changes, it was natural to be drawn into this arena as I had the interest in these areas. I see it as a positive movement with the growing maturity of humans towards leveraging technology to make the world a better home for all.
CFTE: How relevant is Fintech to somebody who works in a similar position to yours – management consulting/coaching?
Kim: Fintech touches everyone who is involved in the commercial world and this means anyone who has to deal with monetary exchange. Thus aside from adults and seniors, youth and young children will also need to handle monetary exchanges to help them learn and grow up to become independent adults. For those of us who have lived long enough to know that managing monetary exchange is an important skill for everyone to have, it is imperative that everyone understands Fintech. However for some, it will be at user-level focusing on usage, whilst for some it will be as content-creators focusing on good and credible data, whilst for some it will be as platform-creators focusing on good and progressive technology layers encompassing networks, infrastructure, application and security.
CFTE: What did you enjoy the most about the courses? Any main takeaways?
Kim: I enjoyed the informal yet professional manner in which the course trainers engaged with us. The technology supporting the process was also very user-friendly, which made the whole learning journey a positive experience. I truly appreciate IBF’s foresight of making CFTE courses available to our community of professionals, and also those who are interested in getting into this industry. The on-demand availability of the programs enabling us to pace and manage ourselves is a great leap forward towards bearing the fruits of lifelong learning across all ages.
CFTE: Finally, describe yourself in 3 words or less!
