Razin Rahman, Head of Products at FIBR UK
CFTE: What motivated you to learn about Fintech?
Razin: Although I have been in the banking and finance industry for many years, keeping my eyes on the trends, I realised that I lacked a deeper understanding of how technology is enabling the industry to deliver age-old products and services with such high efficiently or how the industry is able to churn out a whole range of market disruptive products at such pace. I am curious by nature, and I had to learn more.
CFTE: Could you tell us a little bit more about how your career has progressed over the past couple of years? How has the course supported your career development and transition into your current position?
Razin: I started my career in financial services consulting back in 2004 with PwC in Moscow. After 6 years in PwC, I had worked in banks and a few boutique consulting houses. In 2017, I moved to the UK and landed a job in the wholesale industry followed by an interesting project with Amazon. But I always knew finance is my home and fintech is where I wanted to be. I took the course with CFTE to bridge the knowledge gap and I am happy that I made this choice.
CFTE: What are your main takeaways from the course?
Razin: The course has given me an insight into the evolution of the fintech industry and how it is shaping up. It has also allowed me to have a peek into the mindset of the amazing people who are contributing to the exponential growth of this industry.
CFTE: Thank you for your time! Before you go, could you describe yourself in 3 words or less?
Razin: Adventurous, persistent and resilient
