Global Impact Organisations Partner to Bring Fintech Education to Everyone

CFTE and GIFT develop an initiative for professionals in emerging markets to access Fintech skills and innovative jobs.

Careers in Fintech and innovative financial institutions are interesting, fast-paced, and well paid. However, many do not have the skills to access these opportunities, especially in emerging markets. CFTE & GIFT are starting a collaboration to support governments and organisations around the world to support individuals to acquire Fintech skills and be part of the fastest growing area of finance.

London and Singapore, 12 July 2022 – CFTE (Centre for Finance, Technology and Entrepreneurship) and GIFT (Global Impact Fintech Forum) jointly announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding.

The MoU starts the collaboration between the two organisations with the objective to accelerate Fintech opportunities in emerging markets.  The two organisations aim to combine GIFT’s worldwide connections to introduce CFTE’s courses to the areas of Fintech growth, with special focus on developing countries with emerging need for those skills. This is also an opportunity to further develop and focus the CFTE’s courses to specifically address the requirements of learners united by GIFT’s network. Moreover, this partnership will also result in various events taking part throughout the year, with the objective of further developing and expanding the Fintech global community.

“When we started CFTE with the objective of ‘education at scale’. As we anticipated the continuing growth of digital finance, we wanted to make sure that good Fintech education and opportunities were not restricted to just a few people in the main financial centres, but to everyone. Five years later, there are now more than 300,000 people working in Fintech and innovative banks, and the demand for talent is not stopping. Those opportunities are today, and are open to everyone, whatever their background or location. We have been working with GIFT during the last few years, and keep being impressed by their mission and impact initiatives. We are delighted to be working closer with them to ensure that everybody can get the right Fintech skills”.

Tram Anh Nguyen, Co-founder of CFTE

“GIFT is almost 5 years old too, so we understand the journey of CFTE and its objectives, and consider CFTE as an aligned organization, in its objectives & actions. GIFT is one of the most diverse & inclusive elite Fintech think tanks globally, with by invite only members across 70 countries, spanning the entire fintech ecosystem stakeholders. We have a footprint in every single continent & region, and our mantra is ‘Innovation for Impact & Inclusion’. Through this partnership, we hope to democratize cutting edge, world class fintech education at scale to the many, not the few, across the globe. And we believe that CFTE is a great partner in this mission.”

Malik Khan Kotadia, Co-founder & Board Chair of GIFT

CFTE & GIFT will start their collaboration with a focus on 8 regions, including West Africa and Nigeria, South Asia, LatAm and the Caribbean, as well as Eastern Europe.

Marking the importance of global collaboration to support education at scale, the partnership will be announced at Level39, the birthplace of Fintech in London, in the presence of 200 guests from Central Banks, regulators, Fintech startups, innovative banks and tech companies at the occasion of CFTE’s 5th year anniversary.
