What are the real (and we mean REAL) use cases for Regtech?
Apart from avoiding the awkwardness during that morning coffee, knowing what the real implementations of Regtech are could be useful to, say, dodge that fine on your company. Sounds pretty important, right? Let’s see what real-life use cases for Regtech are.
- Regulatory Compliance: Being quick is key. Just because your company meets the requirements today, it sure doesn’t mean it will still be valid tomorrow. One example would be the introduction of GDPR regulations, which changed how companies handle their users’ data.
- Risk Management: Thanks to Regtech solutions, it’s possible not only to analyse past fraud incidents, but also monitor suspicious behaviour in real time and predict future incidents. The main benefit here – automation. This is very important for financial institutions, but also any other companies that wish not to lose money (my guess is that it makes all of them).
- Anti-Money Laundering Detection: In 2021, the penalties for AML practices reached over $2.3 billion. This may seem like much, but it’s not so hard to violate such regulations. You could be fined for not reporting your transactions in the right way, even if the transaction itself is anything but illegal. Using Regtech, your transactions can be monitored and you are notified whenever they start to look suspicious.
This is just a sample of what Regtech can do for you. However, that vast field of ever-changing regulations and rapidly growing technological advancements has a lot more to offer. Having all those possible fines in mind, you really want to stay on top of these things. At CFTE we love Regtech so much that we don’t have only one course on it… We have five!
We are launching our Regtech – Compliance in Finance programme today! You can go strong, take the programme, five courses included. Or you can go slow, pick the one you like and start from there. Check out for yourself!
