The Centre for Finance, Technology and Entrepreneurship (CFTE) being one of the largest education platforms in financial technology was proud to be represented by their Co-founder, Tram Anh Nguyen, at the ASEAN Financial Literacy Conference is a Priority Economic Deliverable (PED) under Brunei Darussalam’s 2021 ASEAN Chairmanship. The event was co-organised by The Ministry of Finance and Economy Brunei Darussalam and Brunei Darussalam Central Bank and included esteemed speakers from the UK Department for International Trade, Alliance for Financial Inclusion (Malaysia), HSBC and Bukalapak (Indonesia).
The ASEAN Financial Literacy Conference 2021 was centred around the theme of ‘We Care, We Prepare, We Prosper‘ The Conference. The event took the form of a high-level seminar involving both senior decision-makers, influencers and thought leaders from public and private sectors, central banks and financial institutions. Tram Anh Nguyen, CFTE’s co-founder, a staunch believer in promoting financial literacy through education at scale joined the event on 1st December 2021 to discuss how people can stay at the centre of a world that is technologically transforming. The event showcased practical tools for developing financial literacy and advancements in technology.
Tram Anh Nguyen joined the event to speak on a panel, “Building ASEAN digitally: Collaborating on inclusive Financial Literacy”. The session was moderated by George Thomson, Chief Operating Officer (Asia Pacific), UK Department for International Trade (DIT), alongside amazing speakers like Adadzewa Otoo, Policy Specialist, Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI); Narayan Ranganathan, Head of Innovation, Asia, Global Liquidity and Cash Management, HSBC; Timothy Prawiromaruto, Head of Financing Solutions, Bukalapak. Tram Anh represented the United Kingdom on the panel, discussing how countries globally can encourage public and private sectors to work together to boost ASEAN’s financial literacy.
