CFTE: What motivated you to learn more about Open Banking and Platforms?
Walid: In general, I have a very strong interest in technology and like to learn about its implications on various industries, including Finance. I have done CFTE’s masterclasses to give myself a general overview of the industry and the topic of Open Banking and Platforms interested me the most, which is why I decided to pursue this specific specialisation.
I wanted to learn about the technical aspects such as APIs and their implementation, but also the different regulatory perspectives in different countries and regions such as PSD2 in the European Union and the UK.
CFTE: What did you enjoy the most and what were your main takeaways from the course?
Walid: The Open Banking and Platforms course truly gave me an insight into a part of the industry I wasn’t familiar with prior to enrolling in the course. I was able to study in my own time and had access to learning materials created by some of the world’s leading experts. The quizzes after each section helped me stay focused and engaged as I wasn’t able to continue onto the next topic without completing and passing each assessment.
As somebody with an IT background, I specifically enjoyed learning about APIs, how they work and the ways in which they are implemented in banking.
CFTE: And finally, if you had to describe yourself in 3 words?
Walid: Creative, Hard Working And Humble.
