The Centre for Finance, Technology and Entrepreneurship (CFTE) is cooperating with MNB, the Central Bank of Hungary and the Budapest Institute of Banking during the World Fintech Festival in Budapest, an official partner event of the Singapore Fintech Festival, which this year will be celebrated in 40+ global FinTech hubs around the world – Hungary being one of. CFTE will be participating in 3 of the events on the 8th and 9th of December this year.
The Centre for Finance, Technology and Entrepreneurship (CFTE) will be supporting the World Fintech Festival in Budapest, in partnership with the Singapore Fintech Festival (SFF). Both CFTE co-founders Huy and Tram Anh Nguyen are Ambassadors of this year’s edition of SFF. As part of its involvement in the occasion, CFTE will be participating in 3 SFF events during the World Fintech Festival in Budapest.
On the 8th of December, CFTE and the Budapest Institute of Banking (BIB – the training arm of the Central Bank of Hungary) will be hosting the Future of Payments Awards, an event featuring keynote speakers and panel discussions on innovation in the payments’ realm. Speakers on the event include Executive Vice-President of Mastercard Liz Oakes; Director-General of the National Bank of Cambodia, Serey Chea; former Director-General of the European Central Bank Jean-Michel Godeffroy; and many more high-calibre experts. During the event, the results of the Future of Payments Awards competition will be announced and the Payments in Digital Finance online programme co-created by CFTE and BIB will be launched.
On the 9th of December Tram Anh Nguyen, CFTE co-founder, will take part in the financial inclusion panel, featuring Chief Digital Officer, Executive Directorate for Digitalization of The Central Bank of Hungary Aniko Szombati; Global Head, Banks Research & Co-Head of FinTech Theme Group at Citi Ronit Ghose; Director of Product Strategy at Mojaloop Foundation Lesley-Ann Vaughan; and CFO at Momo Manisha Shah.
Huy Nguyen Trieu, also CFTE co-founder, will also provide input to the Green & Sustainable Finance session featuring Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Hungary Csaba Kandrács; Digital Asset Co-Founder & CEO Yuval Rooz; Global Green Growth Institute, Assistant Director-General Susanne Pedersen; and Professor of Finance & Director of the Fintech Research Center at Fudan University, Charles Chang.

These events will be taking place as part of the Singapore Fintech Festival, but the Future of Payments Awards on the 8th of December will be open to the public.
