The Centre for Finance, Technology and Entrepreneurship (CFTE) recently launched their new online course on Conversational AI in Banking. This course aims to provide finance professionals with a comprehensive overview of conversational AI technologies in finance; the solutions, the impacts and the implementation approach. The course is taught by Fintech and Payments expert Anna Maj.
Long gone are the days where clients would accept long hours to get a query solved at their bank. Today, customers demand timely, easy and convenient ways to interact with their finance provider in order to get their query solved. Online and mobile banking have allowed customers to resolve many of their problems with a click, like for example, the disabling of lost credit cards. However, many issues remain too complex for a click-and-select (GUI) interface to handle, or too rare to warrant features to be added at the risk of unnecessarily cluttering the platform. Traditionally to resolve those issues, human customer service agents are needed, yet call centre operators are hardly known for their convenience or timeliness. This is where Conversational AI comes in, it is allowing banks to interact with their clients in more convenient ways, with human-like touch and machine efficiency.
Moreover, the rise of challenger banks where customers can access their data and accounts from easy-to-navigate interfaces is also putting pressure on traditional banks to deliver the same seamless omniplatform customer experience. Conversational AI like chatbots or virtual assistants can help banks not only reduce costs but provide this enhanced customer service. Considering the comparison between Conversational AI and call centre agents mentioned previously, in addition to being more efficient, customers will simply never have to “queue” to get through to a chatbot or a virtual agent. They are available 24/7 and, like other digital banking-enabled solutions, are only a click away. Not to mention that these technologies can also be leveraged for internal processes.
It has now become imperative for all banks to adopt AI solutions in order to guarantee customer satisfaction. Finance professionals should know about AI technologies and understand the importance of its implementation and how they can be utilised.
CFTE is, therefore, very pleased to present its course on Conversational AI in Banking, imparted by expert Anna Maj, and curated through feedback from hundreds of industry experts worldwide. This course has been designed with a strong focus on actionable knowledge so that finance practitioners can benefit from a comprehensive understanding of conversational AI technologies in banking and start implementing them immediately.

“The future of the AI-fueled banking is happening in front of our eyes. Virtual assistants transform the way consumers interact with brands and services. Chatbots change the arrangement of touchpoints throughout the customer digital journey. Voice technologies may have an enormous inclusive power. Voice will deliver financial inclusion like never before, enabling millions of people to embark on the digital transformation. That’s why it is important to learn more about Conversational AI and jump into this bandwagon at the right time”
